Blackberry Hunting 2010

The South Downs by Brighton are loaded with Blackberries.

• Collected two large yoghurt pots and two take away cartons and didn't make a dent.
• Crazy amounts of free foraging food is out there.
• Several rival collectors out early on the Sunday.
• The more you stare the more of them you can see. 
• Jam, tarts, jelly and pies await.

Tomatoes 2010- Part 1

• Grew plants from seed starting 1st January. 2 Variates.
• Kept in propogator with purple light seedling lamp
• Moved to small green house
• Potted out into seperate bottomless pots sat in growbags
• Difficulties in tying up with no soft earth beneath
• One small trip away resulted in water starvation and crazy side shoots 
• Now coming thick and fast.

Winter Garlic planted from bulbs

• Garlic planted Winter 2009 and harvested Summer 2010.
• Bulbs all a little small, platted the best and hung them up to dry.
• Harvested when tops turned yellow and died down. Kept dry near the end.
